Hi! My name is Mookie Valentine but my family calls me “Mooks” for short. I was born on February 15, 2020 and had a rough entrance into the world as I was so big I had to be pulled out and my human family and the neighbor’s dog all worked together to save my life. Don’t let my horns scare you because I am spoiled rotten and think I am part dog so I may wrap around your legs looking for a treat, lick your pants and shoes, or follow you around if I think you have something good to eat. I’ll also push against your legs with my head if you’re missing the gym and looking for a workout. However, my favorite thing to do is meet new people and I’d love to meet you someday soon! UPDATE 6/30/22: Mookie has gone to a new home so he can have his own pasture and be the alpha bull. He was a favorite here on the farm and will be GREATLY missed!
The little guy laying next to me is named Patch and he was born on May 3, 2021. He’s a bottle baby just like me and he’s learned that people are really friendly. He’ll probably follow you around the pasture during your visit because he loves to be fed and petted! Wait until you feel how rough his little tongue is when you feed him a treat!
My name is Eli and I was born in October 2017. I am the big bull of the pasture and have tipped horns on my head. I may look mean and scary but I’m just as gentle as can be. I really enjoy grain, sticking my noise in the air to smell anything new, and rubbing on your leg like it’s a tree. When I get excited you may see me run and jump like a little calf or headbutt one of the big feed troughs around the pasture. My favorite thing is when people scratch me right behind my horns – that feels so good!
Hi there! My name is Lily and I am the silliest and most mischievous one of the group. I am Mookie and Patch’s mom and was born in February 2018. I can be shy at first but once I get to know you I am very sweet! I love to explore and see what kind of trouble I can get into. I love fresh grain and will follow you anywhere if I think you are going to feed me. I even broke into one of the grain bins up on a trailer one day because grain is so delicious!
My name is Violet and I am the matriarch of our small herd and Lily’s mom. I’m the oldest cow on the farm since I was born in September 2015. Wherever I go the other cows usually will follow. Sometimes with new people I really want them to pet my head and show them I am the boss so I will bob my head up and down to move their hand and get their attention. I really enjoy being brushed, especially when Spring comes around to get the thick winter coat off of me as the weather warms up.
